My rate structure is different than most therapists, reflecting my own philosophy towards what's reasonable in getting ongoing help.
Initial Consultation (optional)
In help you in making an informed decision about counselling, I offer a one-hour "Initial Consultation". There are two purposes for this meeting: (a) for you to "check me out" to see if we seem to be a good fit for working together; (b) for me to get a sense of your concerns, interests or goals related to counselling. Based on what you tell me, I can outline my usual approach to helping you resolve your concerns. I do not charge for this Initial Consultation, since I see it as part of helping people learn about how they can resolve concerns, and grow & develop in our complex society.
Regular Counselling Sessions
The fees per session for regular counselling are as follows:

Fees are to be paid at the end of each session. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, or by card (debit/credit). If we are meeting Online, you can pay by e-transfer, or by credit card.
There are a few spaces for a 'sliding-scale' for those who find these fees challenging; we can discuss this as part of our initial conversation.
Appointments with clients are usually once a week. Individual Counselling is a "50-minute" one hour session. Couple, family, and other relational issues sometimes require longer sessions, so I usually allow an hour and a half for these.

Most people contact me by email. In general, email is not a secure or confidential medium in the internet, so for your safety and privacy do not include any sensitive or personal information in your email. You can arrange for us to talk on the phone, or for meeting (on-line or in-person) for a Consultation or for Counselling.
